2-D seismic line in a 3-D GIS model of the EI205 field.
GOM3
provides a unique platform combining all the geologic, geophysical,
engineering and land data released by the MMS with the power the
ArcView geographic information system (GIS). We take care of
organizing, integrating and updating these basic data – you bring
them together with proprietary and other vendor data for the
insights that lead to new discoveries and operating efficiencies.
Whether it is identifying recent wells on the expiring leases of a
competitor or mapping the recovery factors of Bul-1 reservoirs –
GOM3 reduces hours of work in a half-dozen packages to a few clicks.
For over 20 of the top operators in the Gulf of Mexico, GOM3 has
become an integral tool for explorationists, asset teams and
managers.
Beyond the power of ArcView in two dimensions, we include 3-D GIS
models and functionality for all producing fields in the GOM. GOM3
includes a ‘light’ GIS version available through a web-browser for
quick answers, simple maps, charts and reports. We have also
developed Direct Report Access, a module that provides all the same
MMS data through a familiar, non-GIS-based interface. Whether it is
well log images, access to lease serial records or this week’s APDs,
if you want a single source of MMS data, GOM3 meets all of your
needs. Beyond what MMS releases, ESA follows and maps GOM
discoveries and prospects on a weekly basis and offers direct access
to data from several key service companies. Add in your own data and
see what breakthroughs jump out.
GOM3-Direct Report Access gives users the ability to construct complex, customized reports using a familiar, non-GIS-based front end.
If
you already use ArcView, you know the value of combining data on
disparate variables, different sources, projections and resolutions
in a GIS. If you are new to the technology, we understand the
reluctance to learn yet another software package. To reduce that
burden, we have designed a highly intuitive interface for accessing
data and specialized tools for oil and gas applications. We included
an extensive Help system that provides extensive documentation and
for dozens of typical tasks (e.g., changing map projections,
exporting data), we include short ‘movies’ that show and explain the
steps.
To ease the transition to a new technology, we offer on-site
training that teaches new users how to exploit GIS and access all
the data and functionality in GOM3. We also provide consulting to
our clients to help leverage their proprietary data and information
from other vendors using GIS technology. Of course, we offer our
clients unlimited user support and actively solicit input on
improvements in the data and tools in GOM3.
Our web site, www.earthsci.com, offers extensive information on the
data and functionality of GOM3. Trial access to
GOM3-Online is
accessible from our web site. For more information and to schedule a
presentation on GOM3, call (562)437-7373.
The MMS offers
hundreds of thousands of tables and reports only accessible through
their web site. Through GOM3, you immediately access all the data
for any well, lease or pipeline, just by clicking on it in the map.
We’ve built in a
link to Word that automatically inserts the map on the screen. It
also ties that or any other document (Excel spreadsheets, core
photos, CAD files, etc.) or URLs back to any map feature. This
allows you to organize project data around maps you make in
GOM3.
In GOM3, there are dozens of pre-made reports that provide the basic data and charts on all the data in the system.
...a platform for analysis!
There are over 250,000
well log images in GOM3. Click on any well and get a list of all
available logs, preview it on screen, and if it’s the log you need
download the TIFF image. There are no additional charges for well
log images.
GOM3
provides you with the empirical probability distributions for all
reservoir and field volumetric variables (area, thickness, porosity,
etc.) and reserves by play for the 100 plays defined by MMS in the
Gulf
In a GIS, attribute tables underlie all map features. View them on screen or easily export the data of interest to Excel.

Click on any completion, well, sand, pool, field or lease in the map for monthly production of oil, gas and water from 1947 forward.

There are three
components in GOM3. Each is designed to
meet specific needs that arise in exploration and production work
flows:
GOM3-ArcView is the work horse of the
system, built on ESRI’s 2-D and 3-D GIS platforms. It allows you to
combine the MMS data we provide with your own proprietary
information and data from other vendors or public sources. This is a
sophisticated and flexible mapping system with a robust suite of
tools for spatial analysis of oil and gas data. There are no
competing systems that unite analytic power and data like GOM3-ArcView.
GOM3-Online is a ‘light’ version of
GOM3-ArcView, served over the web. It allows
simple access to basic maps, reports, well log images, charts and a
direct-link to the MMS web site data requiring nothing more than a
browser. It is available 24/7 from anywhere and does not require an
ArcView license to operate.
GOM3-Direct Report Access (DRA) gives users
access to the data of our system and the ability to construct
complex, customized reports using a familiar, non-GIS-based front
end. With the inclusion of DRA, GOM3
affords you the ability to consolidate all applications built on MMS
data to just one program.
GOM3-Online provides Reports, Charts, Well Log Images and quick access to MMS Data from anywhere in the world with nothing more than a web browser.
