How to Use the Convert Shape to Text Tool

1. From the TOC, click on the layer that contains the feature(s) that you would like to convert to text.
2. Click on the Select Tool.
3. From within the Data Frame, drag your cursor around the feature(s) you would like to convert to text.
4. Click Yes in the dialog box confirming how many features you have selected to be converted to text.
5. Navigate to a location to save the text file and name the file.
6. Click Save.
7. Navigate back to the location where you saved the text file.
8. The new file will contain your selected features in text format.
   

In the example provided, wells from the VR265 field have been selected and converted to text.
