Well logs are among the most fundamental tools of petroleum geology, geophysics and engineering. Therefore, the addition of all 230,000+ well log images released by BOEMRE is a major addition to the data underlying GOM³. By clicking on a well in GOM³-ArcView or GOM³-Online, you will be presented with a list of all the logs available on that well. After choosing the log of interest, with one click see a preview of either the header or the whole log. If it the log you want, with one more click, download the TIFF from our server to your computer. Access to logs through GOM³-Direct Report Access is also simple – enter the block number, press the Wells tab, choose the well and press the button for Well Logs.

Access to well logs directly from maps is not only logical and efficient, standard well log viewers allow cropping sections of interest – these can be montaged with maps made in GOM³ showing both map view data (e.g., net pay or completion flow rates) with log data showing rock and fluid properties.
