GOM3 News - June 2019

Searching for Well Documents

There are many well documents/datasets, such as mudlogs, cores and PVTs, that have been included in GOM3 and GOMsmart over the last year which may not be obvious to everyone because they are downloaded from the list of Well Reports. This group contains both scanned paperwork/images and digital tables in various formats.

To make these files easier to find, two changes have been made. In GOMsmart, a new report is now listed in Custom Reports. Running a Wells report 'By Document Type' will search for all of those wells with the chosen document/data. From the Preview window, clicking the API Number of the well will drill down for more information on the selected well. The documents/data can be viewed under the Reports/Documents option.

Within ArcMap, a new tab was created when loading data from the GOM3 toolbar under Map Layers > Wells. This tab lists the various types of datasets and then maps the wells where the data are available.

From the map, clicking a well with the hotlink tool (the red lightning bolt) will bring up a similar list, including the Reports as shown above. That will then jump to the list of Reports for wells, including the available documents.

Upcoming Webinars

The next webinar, an overview of GOMsmart, will be held on Tuesday, June 11th. This small webinar will go over the layout of GOMsmart, how the data is put together and processed and will provide a chance to ask questions and offer suggestions. Registration is now available here.

Webinar

After that, the next webinars will focus on a recap of the Bidding and Rejection forecasts made in the Business Planning Add-on to GOM3. For those of you who are already subscribers, we will reach out directly about private meetings. For those who are looking at an analysis of our results in Sale 252, look for another announcement on the dates of that webinar, which we will announce once the final acceptances and rejections are complete.
