3D Seismic Data now in GOMsmart

As many people have seen in the Geophysical demo, GOMsmart now has the ability to interact with 3D seismic data in your browser. In fact, every active and new field with publicly released seismic data is now in the 3D Field Viewer - over 450 fields. Like this view looking southwest at the Shenzi field, this is the quickest way to get the most complete, interactive subsurface view of a field.

3D Field View The Shenzi field with seismic amplitude and salt (in pink), extracted from the velocity survey within the seismic release.

These new views include well logs to display various curves, the default selection being sand content (including salt), but including gamma ray, resistivity, methane and the neutron/bulk density crossover. Everything in the 3D view is interactive, to show more or less data and to click on a feature for production charts, reports, downloads and more well log views. A new button on the right displays the slicing through seismic and salt in all cardinal directions and vertically.

Choosing a field in the 3D Field Viewer tab will automatically include seismic data, when available. Checking the 'Limit to fields with seismic data' box will present only those where seismic data is viewable. Also, clicking a field from the Main tab or the Main map will also present an option to view the field in 3D. And this view, is optimized to a level that it can even be viewed in your smartphone's browser. Never has it been easier to work with seismic data, especially in the context of wells, completions, sands and paleo data.

As the map above shows, there are many fields to view in GOMsmart. But there are many regions where seismic data is available in the Geophysical Addon beyond the active fields. And beyond that, there are the valuable seismic surveys that you have licensed that are not released publicly. What if it was possible to view that data online on your secure sites? The next newsletter will cover the latest tools in the Geophysical Addon to make that a reality.
