GOM3 News - February 2024

Introducing the 3D Field Viewer Online!

The newest addition to GOMsmart is now available in the 3D Field Viewer, a revolutionary look at wells, sand-body reservoirs, completion intervals and paleo data within a web browser, including on mobile devices. These features are available for each field in the Gulf, enabling a new level of data exploration.

Within GOMsmart, a new tab named 3D Field Viewer is now available. This tab will display every field, by name or nickname, as well as an option to view the field with a dark background. Launching 3D Field Viewer is also an option in the Block Info section of the Main tab and when drilling down to more info when clicking a field.

Dark background Moving the cursor over different features displays identifying info, such as the paleo fossil name.

Surfaces at the top of each subseries can be added with the second button at the top-right. These are generated when paleo observations of the subseries appear in six or more wells.

Like any 2D map, all of the items in the 3D Field Viewer are clickable to view more information. While a few main attributes are available, the Hotlink button (with the red lightning bolt) is the gateway to all of the reports, charts, downloads, decline curves (for completion intervals) and well logs (for wells and comps).

15th Annual User Conference

The 15th Annual User Conference is coming April 18th, 2024 at Woodside's offices near the Galleria: Registration is now available here.

The conference is intended for geologists, geophysicists, engineers, land specialists, GIS professionals/techs, and managers. The exchange of ideas and directions for our future development are still the top priority of the conference. Like past conferences, this event will present details about improvements from the past year and a look at future plans. It will also showcase some of the huge additions available since the last conference, particularly the 3D Field Viewer in GOMsmart, large additions to the Geophysical Addon, pay predictions in Shazam and an overhaul of Gulf of Mexico Analytics.
